Imphal, May 29: After remaining closed for three days in protest against the bomb attack of May 25 in its complex, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences was re-opened today.

On the other hand, taking serious note of the bomb attack, the State Government has deployed around 30 armed security personnel within the RIMS complex to thwart off any further attack.

The extra security measures assumed significance as the KCP (MC) who has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack issued death threats to RIMS Director L Fimate and Suptd Y Mohen with the accusation of the duo and other officials indulging in corrupt practices.

The Director and the Superintendent have already been provided security escorts.Even though security personnel have been deployed in RIMS complex, no permanent security barracks have been constructed as yet.
