Imphal, October 26 2008: Strongly condemning the october 23 incident at Karbi Anglong of Assam wherein a passenger bus was set on fire roasting two persons to death, the proscribed UNLF expressed that only people with beastly instinct would resort to such gruesome act.

A UNLF statement issued by its senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba said the miscreants dousing the vehicle with highly inflamable substance and setting it on fire is a deliberate act of challenging existence of human kind which needs to be condemned by all.

Highlighting that a number of armed groups primarily based on ethnicity and myopic concept had been sprouting and operating in the State as well as the region, Yoiheiba conceded that existence and activities of such groups have eroded the ongoing revolutionary movement.

Ceaseless extortion, threat and intimidatory tactics, exploding bombs at crowded places, firing at residences to extract financial gain and setting afire passenger carriers have no relevance with the revolutionary movement, iterated the armed organisation while adding that such anti-people activities is a direct affront to the masses.

Calling upon the people to identify armed groups or organisations whose sole intention is to threaten and extort money and teach them a befitting lesson, Yoiheiba affirmed that the UNLF is prepared to work in tandem with other like-minded UG groups and the general public to anhilate scoundrels of the society.
