Imphal, January 15: Youth Front of the SPF coalition partner Democratic Peoples' Party demanded immediate convening of an emergency session of Manipur Legislative Assembly to discuss on the threat arising out of the peace talks between Government of India and the NSCN (IM) leaders.

Addressing media-persons at Hotel Excellency today afternoon, president of the Youth Front P Premananda said the session should deliberate exclusively on issues pertaining to the State's territorial integrity.

All sixty members of the House should unanimously adopt resolution of declaring independence if Government of India pursues measure to please the NSCN (IM) by disturbing the boundary of Manipur.

The Indian tri-colour should be pulled down and replaced with independent Manipur flag, he fumed while adding that the session proceedings and resolution adopted should be made known throughout the world.

Pledging to resign as MLA after disintegration of Manipur is an act of as cowardice, the youth leader said taking a dig at the reported comments of MLAs who offered to resign in protest against any decision of Indian Government detrimental to Manipur's interest.

State Government should take maximum responsibility to ensure that the State's territory are not affected as a fallout of the Govt of India-NSCN (IM) peace talks instead of following measures taken by various NGOs, he suggested.

Casting doubt at the sincerity of the Indian Government who extended ceasefire with the Naga underground organization beyond Nagaland and resulted in loss of several lives, Premananda said Government of India is still hatching plot to segregate and drive wedge amongst peace loving people inhabiting in Manipur since time immemorial.

On constitution of the All Political Parties Monitoring Committee, Premananda lamented that it is too late and State Government is still in the dark on what transpired during the New Delhi peace talk.
