Many decry Moreh killings

Imphal, June 10: Strongly condemning the killing of 11 persons at Moreh by armed personnel yesterday, UCM, KIM, AMUCO, CLK, HERICOUN, KSO, AMSU, IPSA, UPF and AMESCO have appealed to all sections not to incite communal clashes because of the unfortunate incident at Moreh, conveyed a joint press release.

While appealing to the security forces deployed in the State to safeguard the lives and properties of innocent people, they appealed to the people of Manipur, particularly the people of Moreh to maintain peace and harmony during such critical situation of Manipur.

The All Manipur Nupi Marup has strongly condemned the slaying of 11 persons in a spate of violence at Moreh yesterday.

It further sought attention of the Government to avert such communal conflicts in future.

The All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) while condemning the killings at Moreh, urged the Government to take up all possible measures to bring the situation to normalcy.

The ATSUM president has also appealed to all the people to maintain calm so that peace is restored at the earliest.

Joining the outcry against the violence and arson that took place in Moreh yesterday, the AISF Manipur State Council has appealed to all not to allow recurrence of such unfortunate incident in the future.

Condemning the violent incident of Moreh, the MUSU has appealed to all concerned to remove all existing misunderstandings and solve the crisis through peaceful talks.

The Love Manipur while appealing to all the people to desist from any further violence, called for peaceful settlement of the crisis in the spirit of brotherhood and in the interest of Manipur.

Condoling the death of 11 persons in the Moreh incident, the KIMACS appealed to all to avert such incidents in the future.

Conveying their condolence at the death of 11 persons in Moreh yesterday, FREINDS asserted that the majority community should give up the notion that they should dominate the border town.

Fervently appealing to all the people to stop any incident of internecine killings, the ACOAM-Lup remarked that such killings only bring about disaster in the State and nothing positive.

Taking serious note of the lack of understanding and trust at Moreh, the NCP Manipur Pradesh has appealed to all communities to give up all acts of violence and to solve all conflicts through dialogue.

Joining the condemnation chorus against the slaying of 11 persons at Moreh, the CPI Manipur State Council has appealed to all the people to maintain calm and rationality so that communal harmony is restored in the State.

The CPI Khurai Local Council has also condemned the unwarranted killings and at the same time it appealed to all concerned not to undertake such violent activities ever again.

It also appealed to the State Government to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved families.

The RJD Manipur, MAFYF and TIPS have also joined the outcry against the spate of violence at Moreh.
