MPCC worried over RPF diktats

Imphal, April 06: Worried over the diktat given by proscribed Revolutionaru People's Fromt (RPF), many functionaries of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee has fervently appealed to the outfit for reconsidering its decision of boycotting Congress candidates and restriction imposed on election campaigning for the coming Lok Sabha election.

In separate statements but having the same content, chairman of Minority Department, MPCC Md Akhtar Hussein, president of Block Congress Committee, Thoubal S Yaima Singh, president of BCC Lilong Md Matalip, president of BCC Wangkhem S Babudhon and president of NSUI, Manipur State Th Hemchandra Meetei maintained imposition of restric- tion only on Congress is not fair.

Highlighting on the works done by Congress for the welfare of the people, they appealed to the outfit to give a chance to the party for making its plans and policies known to the people.

Poll boycott: Charging Cooperative, Minority and Other Backward Classes Minister Md Abdul Salam of not keeping his promises for development of Hungal area under Wabagai Assembly Constituency, Hangul Development Committee has announced its decision of boycotting any candidate supported by the Minister in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.

Poll meeting: To discuss the line of campaign to be taken up by the party for the ensuing Lok Sabha election, a meeting of Nationalist Youth Congress Election Campaign Committee has been called on April 8 at 1 pm at the Babupara party office, informed a party source.

Election campaign : Election campaign public meeting of D Loli Adanee BJP candidate for No II Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary constituency would be held at the town hall Ukhrul on April 8 at 11 am sharp.

The public meeting will be addressed by the party central leaders, State leaders etc.

All concerned members are requested to attend the meeting without fail.

EVM training: Training programme on the use of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) for polling personnel and presiding officers of Thoubal district has commenced from today at the Election Counting Hall located within the office complex of Thoubal Deputy Commissioner, informed a DIPR statement.
