Missing boy child found

Imphal, August 30: Aheibam Devkanta, a class VIII student of Imphal Public School, who went missing since August 28 was found at Kwakeithel Nganappi Thong this afternoon.

According to Devkanta, he was going to school to appear an exam on a bicycle in the morning of August 28 when he was overpowered by some three/four persons near Kanchi Cinema Hall, Canchipur.

Soon he was put inside a van and he was gagged with a red handkerchief.

Then he was blindfolded.

After driving for a while, the van stopped.

Then one of the unidentified persons injected a drug on his left arm.

After that Devkanta lost consciousness, he recounted.

When he regained consciousness, the kidnappers offered him some snacks.

After having the snacks, he was given another injection saying that he has lost much strength.

As a result, Devkanta lost consciousness again.

But when he regained consciousness for the second time, he found himself alone at an unknown place.

Devkanta learnt that he was at Kwakeithel only after asking to some people who were there. Then he made a telephone call to his home from a nearby PCO telling about his location.

Soon his parents came there and took Devkanta home.

On the other hand, all the five students picked up by 32 Assam Rifles for taking their statements in connection with the missing of Aheibam Devkanta and later handed over to Singjamei police station were handed over to their parents late last night, informed a source.
