Imphal, May 27: Claiming Md Wahid (29) s/o late Md Barik of Porompat Muslim Leikai who was shot dead by a combined force of Imphal East Police Commandos and 32 Assam Rifles on the night of May 25 at Keirao Makting under Irilbung Police Station was an innocent autorickshaw driver, a Wakat Meepham as staged at Porompat Thawanthaba Leikai today.

Protestors marching towards the CM's quarters to protest

After the protest demonstration, the protestors marched toward the Chief Minister's bungalow at Babupara to hand over a memorandum.

However, the police stopped the protestors from going ahead near Sanjenthong.

Though the memorandum could not be handed over, demands raised in it including payment of Rs 10 lakhs as ex-gratia to the bereaved family, providing a suitable job to one of the family members and punishment of the security personnel involved in killing Md Wahid.
