Imphal, January 24: The Bhartiya Janata Party, Manipur Pradesh has declared that it, and the Central government is fully behind the campaign by the people of Manipur against corruption and use of muscle and money power in the forthcoming elections.

The BJP, state unit in a statement, urged the people of Manipur to root out corruption from the state and fend off fear or greed at the moment of casting their vote in the ensuing elections to erase the corrupt politicians from the future pages of Manipur's history.

The release said a wrong vote will amount to deliberately defeating the people's war against corruption and other election malpractices against which the people of Manipur including the NGOs, local clubs, women organizations, youth organizations etc are now up in arms.

It also stated that the emerging subsequent scenario in the political sphere proves that the serious beating to the BJP in the recent mass agitation against the proposed extension of the ceasefire in Manipur is only superficial and the worst beatings has been shifted to the corrupt, self seeking politicians or those who use money and muscle power as a short cut to political power.
