Imphal, January 23: While dismissing the PIB (DW) claim that the slain Sandham Raju (36) s/o S Kaoba of Moirang Chingei was a KYKL activist, the banned outfit has levelled charges of extra-judicial killing against the 3 Assam Rifles.

Reacting to claims of the PIB (DW) in connection with the slaying of Raju at Salem Veng area of Churachandpur district headquarters on January 21 at 10.30 pm, deputy secretary of the outlawed organisation's publicity and research Apabi Mangang contended that S Raju was in fact picked up from a Salem Veng house at 7 pm by a team of 3 AR led by one Major Malik and murdered in cold blood.

Expressing that such wanton killing of innocent civilians and later branding them as UG cadres/activists has become a common practice of security forces, apabi mangang described the AR action as despicable and pitiful especially as it happened in a place like Manipur where valour and spirit of the people since ages had been well known.

Hurling charges against Indian security forces deployed in the State of continuously indulging in violation of human rights, rape and molestation of womenfolk and the now familiar polity of branding innocent persons as armed activists after elimination, the KYKL maintained that such extrajudicial killings perpetrated by the security force personnel would only spur insurgency movement.

Referring to assertion of the PIB (DW) that Raju's killing is a significant blow to the outlawed organisation's intention/plan to disrupt the forthcoming R-Day celebration, Apabi reminded to all that KYKL had never announced general strike or boycott on Jan 26 .

Nevertheless asserted it had been against all form of celebration under the rule of India as well as till the ongoing revolutionary movement achieves its goal.
