Imphal, December 19: In a gun fight with advancing troops and MPA cadres at L Bongjoi of Dingpi area this morning, two security personnel were killed while some others were injured, claimed the proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) through a press release issued by its Senior Publicity Officer Ksh Yoiheiba.

Not far away from L Bongjoi, another encounter took place between the two sides at about 12.10 pm, Yoiheiba said.

Subsequent upon intense counter offensive launched by the MPA against the troops in different directions, the security personnel forming the vanguard of the advancing troops are now grouping themselves at a particular place, alleged Yoiheiba.

The MPA will be attacking the strongholds of security forces very soon, declared the UNLF while claiming that MPA have recaptured Phaiseljang.

Till date, the MPA have attacked security force positions in Old Somtal area six times during which 16 security personnel have been killed and more than 20 injured, further claimed the outfit.
