Imphal, May 18: The proscribed PREPAK has offered revolutionary salute to Heisnam Biren alias Achumba (41) s/o H Samdel of Thanga Heisnam Leikai, shot dead by Imphal West commandos at Yurembam Makha Leikai at about 4 pm yesterday.

In a press release issued by its secretary in-charge of the department of publicity and propaganda Aheiba Angom, the outfit also shared the pain and sorrow being endured by the bereaved family.

It further dismissed the police statement that one .38 pistol, one live round and a scooter (Bajaj Super) was recovered from Achumba as baseless and fabricated.

The outfit contended that Achumba was picked up from Uripok Bachaspati Leikai before shooting him to death at Yurembam.

Disclosing that Achumba was going to meet some YAS officials in connection with a task of the outfit, Aheiba claimed that there was no weapon with him.

He further decried the alleged practice of police commandos killing people in cold blood after taking them into their custody.
