CM briefs Governor on economic blockade

Imphal, June 11 2010: Chief Minister O Ibobi today called on Governor Gurbachan Jagat at 3.30 pm at the Raj Bhavan here, and the two were closeted for about an hour.

It is learnt that during the meeting, the Governor and the Chief Minister discussed the impacts of the two month-old economic blockade on the two national highways imposed by ANSAM and other Naga CSOs, and the hardships being faced by the people.

It is also learnt that the Chief Minister briefed the Governor on the government planned for deploying Central paramilitary forces on the national highways and action taken up to end the economic blockade.

The Chief Minister presented a detail report of inspection conducted by ministerial on the condition of the NH 53 led by Works Minister K Ranjit and Education Minister L Jyentakumar.

What the Governor had instructed to the Chief Minister could not be officially available but speculated that there might be discussion on the recently concluded ADC election, a highly reliable source maintained.
