Imphal, September 10: In what appears to be a factional gun-fight three persons have been gunned down by unidentified assailants at Naharup Pangonthong (suspension bridge) under Irilbung police station of Imphal East district at around 6.30 pm today.

According to locals at the incident site, about 10 gun-shots were heard and moments after the shooting some unidentified persons, suspected to be the assailants, sped off from the spot on a scooter and motor-cycle towards Kongba side after crossing the said bridge.

On further inquiry the locals spotted corpses of the three unknown victims out of which hands of two were tied together with one attired in jeans (faded), full sleeve white coloured shirt and wore a chappal while the other is clad in blue-coloured jeans and white full-sleeve shirt.

The first victim also had a wallet the contents of which included a paper sheet of telephone numbers and snap of a girl.

The third victim wore a striped half-shirt and grey coloured trousers with amulets around his waist in addition to a power glass found near the body.

The bodies have been deposited at RIMS morgue for identification.
