Imphal, October 07 2009: Offering condolences to the bereaved families of the five persons who were slain in the shoot-out between security forces and UG activists at Leimaram area on october 4, the KYKL-MDF has clarified that only three among the five killed were its cadres.

In a statement issued today by the outfit's Public Relation Officer Anand, KYKL-MDF said the loss of its three important members/cadres is no doubt a sad incident but will not act as a deterrent to the organisation's stated objectives.

Confirming the slain KYKL-MDF cadres as L/C Kh Ingocha alias Ton (24) son of Kh Jugin of Kakching Irung Mapal, Pvt Kh Sunder alias Rocky s/o Kh somendro of Pukhao and Lakal alias Khongjom s/o Ibocha of Langmeidong Mamang Leikai, Anand reiterated that the other two victims had no connection with the organisation.The statement also added that one of the two civilian victims namely Wahengbam Lalito (45) s/o Nilkomol of Thinungei Makha Leikai was a fire-charcoal trader, whose goods were loaded on the Tata DI truck.

Anand further rejected the Bishnupur SP's assertion that Lalito was also a KYKL-MDF cadre.
