Imphal, October 05: Apropos to the news item published in some Imphal based dailies in connection with the map of Greater Nagaland purportedly demanded by the NSCN (IM), a few days back, the Govt of the People's Republic of Nagalim has clarified that the statement is baseless and perceived so as to work up frenzy to confuse the innocent general public and emotionally divide the Nagas to hamper the progress of the current peace talks.

In a statement, the GPRN informed that the collective leadership of the NSCN had time and again made its stand clear that "there is neither so called greater Nagaland or Greater autonomy nor smaller Nagaland or smaller autonomy for that matter and added that the land where the Nagas reside have belonged to them since time immemorial and only the Nagas have the authority to decide its future.

It also said that that collective leadership of the NSCN had made it clear that the Nagas are prepared to understand the difficulties and technical problems of the Indian leaders while pursuing the line of "Just" peace in the region.

Lamenting the loss of 18 precious lives during the anti cease fire extension agitation, NSCN said that Nagas had never anticipated that to happen and will never expect the same to happen in future.
