Many more decry kidnap

Imphal, December 31: Condemnations against the kidnapping of two school going kids from Senapati on December 14 continue to pour in with the Kangpokpi Urban Town Committee, Kangpokpi Youth Club, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organisation, Kang pokpi Elders' Forum, Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship and Editorial Board holding a joint meeting on December 29 and strongly decrying the incident.

The joint meeting was held at the office of Kangpokpi Urban Town Community office.

The meeting took serious note of the kidnapping of the two kids, Muhini Martin and Hubert Hriini and described the act as inhuman and barbaric.

All the organisations have also appealed for the safe release of the two children.

Meanwhile, the president of the Senapati District Women's Association has announced that a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh would be given to anyone who can provide information to secure the release of the two children.

Sadar Hills Chiefs� Association (SAHILCA) has also strongly condemned the kidnapping of the two innocent children and denounced kidnapping of innocent children for ransom or otherwise as an act of cowardice and shame to the people to whom they claim to belong.

In a statement, SAHILCA secretary (general admn) S Khupsong demanded that the two innocent children kidnapped from Senapati HQs by unknown elements should be released unharmed and handed over to the parents at the earliest.

Condemning the inhuman act of abducting the innocent and angelic children for ransom, Tangkhul People�s Organisation, Imphal (TPOI) said the news of abduction of two young kids studying in Don Bosco School, Senapati by unidentified persons on Dec 14 has once again sent shock waves to all the peace loving people, specially parents.

Tangkhul people living in Imphal area join others in appealing for the safe and immediate release of the two kids without any harm on humanitarian ground, TPOI president Ng Hungyo said, adding that TPOI also share in the hardships faced by the parents of the two kids in spirit and in prayer.

��We also pray that the spirit of good Lord will inspire the hearts of the abductors and release the children with humane love��, the TPOI statement added.

In another statement, Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) said kidnapping the innocent kids for ransom is a heinous crime.

The Union also appealed to all the people and organisations for co-operation in ensuring the safe release of the two kidnapped kids.
