Imphal, December 27 2009: Asserting that Paolenlal Chongloi and Paosat Kigpen were innocent students, the Keithelmanbi Youth Association (KYA) has condemned the murder of the duo by Nongbrang villagers on December 22 .

On that fateful day, whatever might have happened between Nongbrang villagers and the underground cadres, the two students were on their way to Bongbal unaware of the situation there as they were ignorant of the way of living in the Sate as they had been out of the state since childhood, said a press release issued by Keithelmanbi Youth Association.

On their way to Bongbal, they might have been mistakenly or knowingly murdered by Nongbrang villagers and later accused them of being UG cadres.

It also alleged that the two bodies were also burnt so that could not be recognised.

However, intervention by security forces could saved only the face of Paolenlal Chongloi.

While condemning the charges and allegations made by Nongbrang villagers, KYA decried the press statement of the UCM published on December 25 .

The KYA accused the UCM of speaking in favour of a particular community and protecting dignity of a particular community.

It also prayed that the departed souls may rest in peace.
