Imphal, March 19 2010: Two persons, a former underground member and a suspect, were killed while injured to another one in different gun violent incidents yesterday night.

Suspected undergrounds also threatened with bomb to the house of a vegetable supplier of security force at Kshetrigao in other unrelated incident.

The former militant was killed by unknown gunmen Sangaksam village under Yairipok police station of Thoubal district late last night, at about 9.30 pm.

The slain youth has been identified as Ningombam Premjit (30) son of Ito of Yairipok Kakyai Maning Leikai.

Family members today, while taking back the body, said that Premjit was a former PLA cadre retired around 10 year back from the party.

He was survived by his wife and two children � a daughter and a son.

He went out with four persons who had dinner together at his home last night at about 8.30 pm.

Two of them were his local friends and well known to the family, they said.

No sooner had they went out together, villagers could hear sounds of firing guns.

Premjit was found dead with bullet injury when family as well as villagers rushed to the spot where the gun firing took place.

They killed him by pumping three bullets, two at the chest and one at the hand.

Meanwhile troops of Assam Rifles also gunned down a suspected militant at Kongba Irong under Irilbung police station of Imphal east district last night, at about 10.10 pm.

A .32 pistol (China make) with a magazine loaded with one live round and a Chinese hand grenade were recovered from the possession of the dead body, police said.

IGAR (S) in a statement today claimed that the suspect was killed in retaliation by the troops of 28 AR when they were came under heavy volume of fire by some three to four suspected militants.

Another youth shot at by miscreants last night, at about 7.30 pm, survived with bullet injury near the Imphal Tangkhul Avenue under Lamphel police station of Imphal west district.

The injured youth identified as Chingmreingam Tangkhul alias Chii (27) son of US Archal Tangkhul of Tuinem village of Ukhrul presently residing at Tangkhul Avenue.

He is under medical treatment at RIMS Hospital.

A bullet pumped at his body, remained stuck inside, and removed after operation.

A hand grenade was found at the house of one Habibur Rehman near the Rahamania Higher Secondary School under Porompat police station of Imphal east district.

He is a vegetable supplier at security camps.

A police team defused and disposed off the same later.

Police also detected another hand grenade at a space lying between a grocery shop run by a local man and saloon run by non-local yesterday evening at Kwakeithel under Singjamei police station.

A team of Imphal west police commandos retrieved the bomb which found no explosive material found.
