Imphal, July 14: Even as the Govt has resorted to rationing fuel in the face of the economic blockade called by ANSAM, petrol is being sold in the black market at Keishampat right the under the nose of security personnel, asserted FPM MLA L Ibomcha today during zero hour at the Assembly.

Drawing the attention of the House to the matter, the MLA said kerosene is being sold in the black market at Rs 32 per litre while petrol is being sold at Rs 55 to 60 per litre.

The Government should study the situation in the rural area, suggested the MLA.

There will be no point in rounding up the people selling the fuel in the black, said the MLA and added that the stress should be on the source of the fuel and how it landed at the hands of the black marketers.

On LPG, the MLA said that the agents have not distributed the LPG cylinders to the consumers in a proper manner and added that a filled cylinder is being sold at Rs 600/700 in the black market.
