Imphal, November 12: Reacting with shock and revulsion against the cold blooded murder of Miss Lungnila Elizabeth by her kidnappers today, the United Committee Manipur has declared that it would observe a two day mourning from tomorrow all over the State and added that schools and colleges will be closed to protest the ruthless killing tomorrow.

All commercial centres of Imphal would remain closed during the two day mourning period, informed Jadumani.

Speaking to newsmen at RIMS morgue today, UCM president Sapamcha Jadumani said the killing could have been the handiwork of some demented minds who have no compunction of snuffing out the life of a young and innocent child.

"The UCM strongly condemns the inhuman killing of Elizabeth and all right thinking citizens should come forward and condemn such acts in unequivocal terms," said Jadumani further.

The UCM would also organize mass prayer meetings for the departed soul, said Jadumani adding that all NGOs, student bodies, meira paibis and security personnel have a bounden duty to co-operate with each other to track down the murderers.

The All Manipur United Clubs' Organization has also strongly condemned the killing of Lungnila Elizabeth and added that with each passing day, the number of local goondas appear to be increasing in Manipur.

The killers deserve no leniency from the people and will stand condemned for all times to come.

The memories of Elizabeth will continue to live amongst the people of Manipur cutting across community divide, said AMUCO and prayed for her soul.

AMUCO said that the Government should leave no stone unturned to book the culprits and added that it will also be on the alert to help unmask the killers.

The Manipur University Students' Union has reacted strongly against the killing of Elizabeth.

Coming down heavily on the Government, MUSU president S Sanjoy said that the killing of the girl has shown in no uncertain terms that the SPF Government is no longer able to control the law and order situation and demanded that the Govt should track down the killer gang.

Sharing the grief and pain of the family members of the deceased child, the student leader said that they will organize a condolence meeting tomorrow.
