Imphal, June 12: The proscribed PREPAK has offered revolutionary salute to its late cadre Sgt Maj Laithangbam Sekharjit alias Heramani alias Sanjoy alias Inaocha (24) s/o Jhulon of Bishnupur ward no 7 .

Sekharjit was shot dead by a combined force of Bishnupur Police commandos and troops of 12 Maratha Light Infantry at about 4.30 am of June 11 at Utlou.

A statement issued by the outfit's secretary in-charge of the Department of Publicity and Communication Aheiba Angom alleged that Sekharjit alias Sanjoy was not killed in encounter but was eliminated after arrest.

He also dismissed the police claim that Sanjoy was killed in an encounter and that one 9 mm pistol was recovered from him along with three live rounds as baseless and fabricated.

Killing someone who has fallen into their hands while unable to face in battlefields is an act of cowardice, he remarked.

Disclosing that Sanjoy underwent military training in the 9th batch, Aheiba recalled that Sanjoy was a courageous and sincere revolutionary.

Noting that the demise of Sanjoy has left behind an irreparable loss in the outfit, it also shared the pain and grief being endured by the bereaved family.
