Imphal, January 10 2010: Stating that its ideology does not permit practice of awarding death penalty to any individual without conducting a fair trial, the proscribed PREPAK has clarified that it was not related to the killings of non-Manipuris.

A statement issued by the outfit's publicity in-charge Aheiba Angom asserted that the outfit always give a second chance to rectify mistakes even if any individual is found guilty.

A guilty individual may be awarded death penalty only after a fair trial by the 'people's court' under article 28 (2) of the party's constitution.

What Imphal West Additional SP AK Jhaljit said on the arrest of Sgt Moirangthem Monao alias Parimacha alias Mohen alias Sana (26) s/o Nimai of Sayang Lambi and Laikhuram Munan alias Sanathoi (24) s/o Amusana of Langjing Achouba was a rehearsed statement.

The deliberate act of accusing PREPAK and taking names of other insurgent outfits in connection with the killing of non-local people was aimed at pleasing Chief Minister O Ibobi who has been allegedly dancing to the tune of New Delhi.

In response to the Government of India's stringent instruction to check the acts of killing non-local people and to identify the killers, the State Government has been blaming one group after another for these killings.

Reiterating that PREPAK was not related to the killing of non-Manipuris, the outfit clarified that it does not view the non-Manipuris living in Manipur as enemies.

They are just labourers suffering under the Indian rule and struggling for survival.

Accusing the Government of India of subjugating the people of Manipur, the outfit compared New Delhi's reported abhorrence for war and call for peaceful co-existence as crocodile's tears.

No nation living under their feet would agree to such a call.

Only the bourgeoise and capitalist class and their proxy local rulers may subscribe to the Government of India's rule, it asserted.

The Indian freedom struggle against British rule was a movement to take over the rein of the Government by Indian bourgeoise class from the British colonial masters while keeping the common mass under perpetual suppression, it alleged.

Unlike that, the ongoing revolutionary movement of PREPAK is a movement to bring a free and egalitarian society in Kangleipak, the outfit claimed.

It further called upon all the people living together in the State to support and join the revolutionary movement.
