Imphal, January 04: The Ticket Committee of the MPP is scheduled to meet on January 6 to discuss the names of candidates it would nominate for the forthcoming 9th Assembly election.

The decision to convene the meeting on January 6 was taken during a meeting of the Working Committee of the MPP held today under the chairmanship of its president Dr L Chandramani.

The election notification for the first phase of the election will be issued on January 13.In the first phase three Assembly Constituencies of Ukhrul, 10 ACs of Thoubal and 6 ACs of Senapati will go to the polls on February 8.For the first phase, the MPP is aiming to announce the names of the candidates on January 8 or 9.Today's meeting of the Working Committee also gave the green signal to the Vision 2020 of the MPP.

The go ahead nod was also given to start drafting the election manifesto of the party.
