Imphal, May 13 2009: Employees of the state agriculture department today staged a sit-in protest in front of its head office at Sanjenthong decrying the bomb attack to the house of one of its officers Ningombam Sharat residing at Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi on May 8 evening leaving his wife with splinter injury.

Employees of the state horticulture and soil conservation also joint the protest leaving all officials works of the day.

Participating staffs while stating that due to the frequent attack and abduction of the officers of the department by undergrounds, they could not work properly in the office and appealed all concerns to stop harassing them in future.

They said that, before the bomb attack to the house of the AO Sharat, there were instants of kidnapping the deputy director of horticulture and soil conservation by the underground apart from repeated attacks to the houses of its officers.
