KCP claims hand in killing Sanajaoba

Imphal, October 01 2009: The outlawed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has claimed responsibility in the killing of Konsam Premkumar alias Sanajaoba, son of K Santi of Khurai Konsam Leikai Epum Mapan yesterday at a place under Lilong police station in Thoubal district.

A statement issued by Tabungba Meitei, IPR department of the KCP charged that Sanajoba was not only a drug user and peddler, but was also acting as an informer.

His wife has known well the involvement of her husband in the alleged cases.

It charged that despite repeated warnings to shun his way, credible information was received by the outfit on September 29 that five impostors including Sanajaoba were going to carry out a mission.

The outfit found five of the accomplices together at a place on Tuesday around 8pm.Four of them - Md.Salao of Lilong Turel Ahanbi, Md.Latif of Lilong Dam, Md.Wahidur of Lilong Khunou and Md.Abo Chaoba - managed to escape while Sanajaoba was detained.

On questioning, Sanajaoba revealed that all of them were drug dealers.

The outfit alleged that the group of five has been involved in various incident of extorting money in the name of the KCP.

The statement claimed that one 9mm pistol and four rounds of ammunition were recovered from Sanajaoba.

It added that another 9mm pistol was with one of his accomplices.

Sanajaoba was said to have revealed that he and his accomplices had close relation with the security forces.

The statement asserted that Sanajaoba was not tortured during the interrogation while adding he was not even slapped.

Stating that the outfit - under its 'undercover elimination' drive launched by a combined team of the outfit's Imphal East DC, Malem Nganba and DC of Thoubal division, Tamya Ngakpa - managed to nab only Sanajaoba, it pledged that the outfit will not spare the four accomplices of Sanajaoba.

Meanwhile, the statement also warned pradhan of Imphal East 1, pradhan of Khangabok part 3 and pradhan of Tentha, that the outfit will strike at them for their 'anti-party' stance.

The outfit also stated that it doesn't lift the ban imposed on PWD officials from the SO to the CE.

The statement conveyed that the outfit withdraws the ban on pradhan of Yurembam and Banka Bihari of Kwakeithel as the pradhan had resolved the disagreement with the labourers.
