Imphal, October 23 2009: As part of the ongoing agitation of the state's journalists in boycotting government news, the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) has decided to boycott the Information Day which falls on November 1.It further decided to deny awards to journalists and editors on the occasion.

These were unanimously decided at a meeting of the AMWJU standing committee and editors held today at the Manipur Press Club, a statement issued by the general secretary of AMWJU, Yambem Henary conveyed.

The meeting also resolved to initiate action against any editor/journalist accepting the award given by the DIPR.

The meeting further decided to hold rally of journalists on November 1 which will be followed by a meeting, the statement conveyed.
