Imphal, October 07 2009: Manipur People's Party (MPP) has strongly condemned the reported encroachment of Manipur's land by Nagaland police in Jessami area of the Manipur-Nagaland border.

Observing that the statements of the Deputy Secretary (Home) of the state and that of the SPF spokesperson N Biren on the matter have contradiction, a press statement issued by the media secretary of the MPP, Y Mangi demanded the government to come out clean on the matter.

The Deputy Secretary of Home department, Th Amalkumar said the NAP personnel have been occupying the vacated post of the BSF in the area since March this year.

He was quoted to have said that the Nagaland government and the Manipur government had a talk on the matter.

The MPP statement posited that the fact tells that the state government is giving consent to the setting up of the NAP post.

This has also clearly indicated that the NAP personnel are guarding their territory.
