Imphal, May 28 2009: Reacting to the assassination of Prof Md Islamuddin on May 25 inside the campus of MU, PULF has posed a series of questions to the KYKL and urged for answers to them.

In a statement, secretary of publicity PULF Aanish Khan asked in what serial number was Prof Islamuddin slotted amongst those who were working against the interest of MU; how many are there in the hit list after Prof Islamuddin; whether Prof Islamuddin was involved in the wrong doings in all the departments of MU as alleged by KYKL; was Prof Islamuddin the lone final authority in the election of MUSU; what is the core meaning for the KYKL to take such a keen interest in the election of MUSU; how does the KYKL aim to control the groups who act according to their own fancy and whims without respecting the spirit of secularism and democracy which are associated with revolutionary groups; whether the KYKL can provide the list and proof of all the wrong doings allegedly committed by the late Professor; just as revolutionaries know more about revolutions than others, do the KYKL have any reservation in admitting that MUSU and the relevant authority know more about MU than others; what answers will the KYKL give to the issues raised by MUSU.

The outfit further said that the killing of Prof Islamuddin has dealt a big blow to the future of the Muslims (Meitei Pangals) who constitute only about 10 pc of the total population of the State.

Everyone knows that the Meitei Pangals are educationally, socially and economically backward and as such a personality like the late Professor was a leading figure for the Muslim community here, it said.

Prof Islamuddin was not in any related to PULF, it said and added that killing him without any warning will set a bad precedent.

It is time for all to ponder over this and it is save the future that the 10 questions were posed to the KYKL, said PULF.

Though a good number of Muslim people have been killed and awarded minor penalties, PULF had never said anything for they were all timely and justified, said the statement.

PULF also knows that no other group has the right to question another group for any action taken up for the ultimate goal of all is the same.

However when situation is such that it poses a threat to the integrity of society, peace and when any unreasonable act is committed, then PULF would do its duty.

To the PULF it does not differentiate between people on the basis of caste, community and will never do so, it asserted.
