Imphal, January 27: The Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) expressed deep concern over the involvement of Athonliu in the gruesome murder case of Baby Lungnila Elizabeth daughter of GAD minister, Francis Ngayokpa and subsequent press statement of NSCN (IM) appearing in some local papers on 22/01/04 regarding the conspiracy and involvement of Gaikhangam, Works minister in the case.

The ZU never expect or think of involving Zeliangrong people in such treacherous crime, it is very much unfortunate on the part of Zeliangrong community as a whole.

Being an apex body, ZU will leave no stone unturned the obscure matter to dig out the reality whether they are directly or indirectly involved in murder case and will give benefiting action as per Zeliangrong customary law, if the involvement is confirmed and proof is found true.

The ZU appealed to all the organizations and underground outfits including the NSCN (IM) to give only the logistics statement to the public with proof and authentic evidences to enable to know the real culprits and to bring logistical conclusion of the case.

It said any competent authority whoever dealing the case should try to bring justice without any prejudice.

However, the ZU (AMN) seriously viewed the controversial press communiqu� of few zonal office of ZU & ZYF which appeared in some local dailies on 26/01/04 purportedly to be the press statement of ZU & ZYF (AMN).

It is very unfortunate to use the term 'ZU & ZYF (AMN)' without the knowledge or directive of ZU Central executive.

The ZU further informed the concern zonal members of ZU & ZYF to apologize the matter in person to the central office, ZU at the earliest.
