SFs scalp 3 UG suspects

Imphal, April 23 2009: Three UG suspects have been slain in two separate incidents of reported encounters with security forces today.

In a shoot-out that took place near the Yuvraj Palli community pond in between Okram Chuthek and Ucheckon at about 7.10 pm today, two suspected cadres of KCP (MC) were slain by a combined force of Imphal East commandos and troops of 28 AR, informed a police source.

Earlier at about 5 pm today, a combined team of Bishnupur police commandos and troops of 4/8 GR shot dead another UG suspect near Sadu Khoiru village under Loktak police station.

From the two UG suspects slain at Yuvraj Palli, one revolver with two live rounds, one pistol with four live rounds, one Chinese hand grenade and three demand letters of KCP (MC) signed jointly by its commander in-chief Lamyanba Khuman and district commander Rom Meitei were recovered from their possession.

The encounter ensued when different teams of combined force moved towards the spot from Khongman and Ucheckon sides.

Irilbung police have picked up the corpses and deposited them at RIMS mortuary.

On the other hand, one country-made carbine and five live rounds were recovered from the possession of the individual slain in the gun-fight of Sadu Khoiru village.
