Imphal, January 20: Manipur People's Party (MPP) has unequivocally warned the Government of India against any move to disturb the existing territorial integrity of Manipur and drive wedge among the different groups of people who have been settling here in mutual harmony since time immemorial.

The Government of India while pursuing its endeavor to find an amicable solution to the decades vexed Naga problem should not forget the June 18 mass uprising and the subsequent withdrawal of the phrase 'with-out territorial limit' from the contentious Bangkok Agreement signed with the Naga rebel group, NSCN (I-M), MPP General Secretary AK Sanaton stated in a press release.

He said that the unique historicity of Manipur should not be compromised at any cost to appease the rebel group.

Manipur does not belong to any one community, but to all the different groups of people who have been settling here since time immemorial in mutual harmony.

All the people should raise up as one against any divisive force that might pose threat to its integrity, he exhorted.

The State Assembly on at least four different occasions had also taken resolution to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur, he reminded in the press release.
