Imphal, July 15 2010: MPP Legislature Wing O Joy, boycotting the Assembly session protesting against the Speaker's delay in making his final decision on the matter of resignations tendered by seven independent MLAs from hill districts, will join the session from tomorrow.

The working committee of Manipur People's Party held today has decided to let O Joy attending the session by reviewing his decision not to participate in the sitting of the House.

He will attend the sitting from tomorrow, said MPP president MPP Dr Nimaichand Luwang.

He said the working committee of the party took the decision to insist party legislature wing to attend the sitting so as to rise issues concerning with the public in the ongoing budget session of the Assembly.

Indecisiveness over the resignation of seven Naga MLAs in protest against the ban on the entry of NSCN (IM) General Secretary Th Muivah in Manipur by the state government and Speaker refusal for discussion on a point of order raised by him on the floor of the house on the matter, O Joy walked out from the House on July 8 last.

He, later, announced that he will not attend the session until the Speaker gives his final decision to matter of resignations tendered by the seven MLAs saying that he is unwilling to sit together with MLAs who wanted to break the territorial integrity of Manipur.

Dr Nimaichand Luwang while briefing reporters today at MPP office said that the working committee meeting held today discussed the matter arising out of party's legislature wing leader decision to boycott the ongoing assembly session.

The committee unanimously opined that the absence of the senior leader in the house will render assembly session incomplete and decided to let him joined the session and take part in the sitting in the interest of the people.

However, demand for a clear mandate on the resignation matter put forward by him, which the party also extended support, will continued to press in the House and press the Speaker to finalize the matter during the ongoing budget session.

Working Committee considered prudent to let its senior Leader O Joy attends session, not to miss out raising issues of public interest like the price hike in the ongoing session and decided to let him to resume attending session, he said.

Dr Nimaichang Luwang further informed that the party demand for a final decision on the resignation of the seven MLAs by the speakers, failure to arrive at decisive conclusion on it, MPP Working Committee decided to launch campaign to press the demand.
