Imphal, January 13: All Manipur United Clubs' Organization (AMUCO) giving a clarion call to the people to maintain peace and stand unitedly against any sinister design to alter the existing territorial boundary of Manipur, has categorically stated that the no force in the world is strong enough to disturb the territorial integrity of the State.

In a press statement, the publicity secretary of AMUCO, Tompok Likmabam maintained that the State which has been the home to various groups of people since time immemorial is passing through a crisis with certain elements threatening the territorial integrity and trying to create disunity among the people.

It is time to understand who is behind all this and stand unitedly to defeat any of its sinister design, the statement said.

The present threat being posed does not come from any community but from the Indian Government which can and is out to alter the existing boundary of the State, the statement said.

Criticizing politicians and individuals who are allegedly giving false assurance to the people that the territorial integrity of Manipur can be safeguarded by amending Article 3 of the Indian Constitution, Likmabam said it was really unfortunate.

Nowhere in Indian Constitution is it mentioned that the territorial integrity of Manipur or Nagaland or Assam would be safeguarded.

Even if Article 3 of the Constitution is amended, Indian Parliament can re-amend it as and when it suits its purpose, the statement iterated.
