Imphal, August 11: Political parties and an MP joined civil societies in applauding Ansam for suspending its economic blockade agitation on humanity ground even as several bodies called for a permanent settlement to the issue.

Quoting the Inner Manipur MP Dr Th Meinya Singh terming the blockade suspension as �show of solidarity and integrity of the people of Manipur, a DIPR release also mentioned of the MP expressing that suspending the economic blockade will help in solving the already crippled economy of the state.

He also emphasised on solving all issues through dialogue.

Hailing ANSAM and Govt of India for providing temporary relief to the common people who faced severe difficulties for over 50 days, Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress appealed to the student body to call off the agitation in the public interest.

Conveying of party leaders expressing jubilation upon hearing suspension of the blockade BJP Manipur Pradesh further appealed to all concerned against subjecting the common people under duress in pursuit of demand.

Expressing similar sentiment Meetei National Front, Kangleipak prevailed upon the State Government to leave no stone unturned in finding an amicable end to the ANSAM-Government of Manipur impasse.

Observing that suspension of the blockade reflects the inedible bond between the hill and the valley dwellers, MNF said opportunity for talks offer by the students� body should not go waste.

New Age Club, Singjamei Thongam Leikai prevailed upon the State Govt against laxity in improving/developing NH-53 and 150.Hailing the important decision taken by ANSAM in suspending the agitation and describing the gesture as a great opportunity the Club called upon the State Govt to capitalise in finding a permanent solution to the problem.

Referring to past instances of disturbances on the Imphal-Dimapur road the Club expressed that time has come to find alternative route of sustenance for which improvement of Imphal-Jiribam and development of NH-150 has become indispensable.
