Imphal, January 10 2010: Brushing aside the charges of the AddL SP of Imphal West that the RPF and its armed wing the PLA are involved in the killing of migrant workers, the outfit has today asserted that the poor and down trodden people of India are not its enemy.

Rather the RPF supports all their struggle for political freedom, said the outfit in a statement issued by the chief of the department of publicity, GM Changjou.

The economy refugees who have come to Manipur is search of livelihood are not enemies of RPF.

Quoting the purported statement of two persons, Moirangthem Manao alias Parimacha alia Mohen alias Sana (26) of Tera Sayang Lambi and Laikhuram Munal alias Sanathoi (24) of Langjing Achouba, Addl SP of Imphal West police, Ak Jhalajit had on January 9 informed the media that the RPF is involved in the killing of migrant workers.

Rubbishing the statement of the Addl SP, the outfit said that this was nothing but an attempt to tarnish the image of the RPF and the PLA in front of the world and the people of Manipur.

RPF does not know Manao and Munal, said the statement and added that the charges levelled by the Addl SP is part of a propaganda to cast the RPF and the revolutionary groups as anti-people and terrorists.

Even the Indian law stipulates that what a suspect says while in police custody cannot be admissible in Court and it is a shame that the Addl SP was not aware of this.

It is also a shame that the police was under the impression that the statement of two persons, who are not in connected to the RPF, will be swallowed hook, line and sinker by the people.

What will the police do, if an arrested suspect say that the killing of migrant workers was done at the machinations of some Congress leaders, who are opposed to the Chief Minister, countered RPF.

Or will it also believe if some suspect says that the migrant workers were killed at the behest of some police officers ? .

It is only mind bereft of senses who will say that the migrant workers were killed by the RPF/PLA to destablise the Government.

RPF/PLA have always been against all Government installed under India in Manipur, it asserted.

As such it does not make any difference whether Ibobi is the Chief Minister of a Government installed under India or that a political party of India is running the Government.

Therefore it makes no sense to say that the RPF orchestrated the killing of migrant workers to destablise the Government.

RPF believes in the resolutions adopted by the UN and stands by the protocol, agreed to by the Nations of the world.

This is the reason, why the RPF is a signatory of Article 3 of the Geneva Convention.

Efforts are still on to sign more conventions and protocol, asserted the outfit.

It would do wise for the Manipur police to realise that their efforts to tarnish the image of the RPF will not work and will find no takers among the public.

The outfit urged the people to be wary of the false propaganda unleashed by the police.
