Imphal, March 08: The Cobra Task Force (CTF) of the proscribed PREPAK has claimed responsibility for the grenade attack at Assembly compound today.

A statement issued CTF commander Bobby Mangang informed that the attack was its first warning to the leaders of the incumbent Govt led by Ibobi for his effort to take strong resolutions against UG groups and civilians helping UG groups.

Observing that every one ought to respect an Assembly in a democratic country, Bobby Mangang asserted that there is nothing wrong to assume that the Assembly is a symbol of colonial rule if it becomes of place of anti-people policies and activities.

It further alleged that rampant violation of human rights by security forces is due to tacit support and permission given by the State Cabinet.

For the casualties and stress suffered by the people to the excesses allegedly committed by security forces, the Govt should bear responsibility.

There would be no reservation on the part of the CTF to take up such punitive actions against the families of Ministers and MLAs, declared Bobby Mangang.
