Imphal, May 03 2010: The second phase notification for the Manipur (Hill Areas) District Council elections has been issued on Monday with the polls slated for June 2 which will elect 24 council members from each district.

The district council constituencies of Senapati, Ukhrul and Tamenglongaltogether have 468 polling stations to elect 72 council members, according to the state Election Commission, Manipur.

The last date of making nominations for the second phase elections will be on May 10 and the scrutiny will be held on May 11.The last date of withdrawal of candidatures will be on May 13 while the polling will take place on June 2 between 7 am and 3.30 in the afternoon, added the Election Commission.

Today was the last date for making nominations for the first phase elections and the scrutiny of nominations will be held on Tuesday (May 4), date for withdrawal of candidatures will be on May 6 and the polling date for the first phase is scheduled for May 26 with polling hours to start from 7 AM till 3.30 in the evening of the same day.

June 16 is being set as the date for complete elections processes.
