UCM questions IM's camp in Manipur

Imphal, January 22 2009: OPENING OF a camp of the NSCN (IM) at Siroy in Ukhrul and reported eruption of tension between the outfit and Assam Rifles in the last few days has clearly show that the cease fire extend in the state of Manipur even as GOI has said withdrawn the word "without territorial limit" from the ceasefire pact, said a statement of the United Committee Manipur today.

The doubt of the people regarding the extension of the ceasefire agreement in the state too exist in the mind of the people of that has turned out to be true, it said while condemning the Manipur government remaining silent at this juncture.

It also warned the government of another uprising similar to that the great June 18 uprising witnessed in 2001 if the state government remained without pressing the Centre in this regard and announced a clear cut stand whether the ceasefire extend to other places other than Nagaland, UCM is ready to teach a lesson to the government with the support of the people.

The statement also asked doing whatever one want in place is called democracy while referring to alleged remain of the terms and conditions of the ceasefire ground rules agreed only on paper.
