Imphal, November 20 2009: Womenfolk of Moirang today staged sit-in protest against the attack on the proprietor of the Janata Hall, Konjengbam Jiten on Wednesday night in which Bishnupur police arrested three persons said to be cadres of a group of KCP involved in the attack.

The sit-in protest was staged at Moirang Lamkhai under aegis of the Iramdam Kanba Lup, Moirang Lamkhai.

Slogans like "We decry the shooting incident, don't cause panic to the people, Jiten was not an informer, we could not agree with giving fault after shooting, etc.

were displayed at the protest site.

During the protest, a meeting was also held.

The meeting while disagreed with the charged level against Jiten, adopted that there were no instant of arresting two cadres of KCP in April with Jiten as informer.

The meeting also questioned whether the arrest of three activists of the KCP was also with the information provided by the Jiten who is currently under medical treatment at hospital.

The meeting while assuming that Jiten has no fault and observed that Jiten was attacked in connection with personal enmity which the group sided on the other side and drew the attention of other outfits working for the people.

They also appealed to not repeat the incident that occurred to Jiten once again.
