Imphal, June 09 2009: Sit-in protest against detention of five students under NSA and decrying the killing of professor, Dr Md Islamuddin were separately staged today at various schools and localities as the protest on the both the matter continued.

Students and womenfolk seeking released of the five students, during the sit-in protest lamented that the government act of detaining the volunteers of the student bodies disturbed the campaign for quality education in the state.

Students of CC Higher Secondary School staged the sit-in protest against the detention of student under NSA at the gate of the school.

Womenfolk also staged sit in protest at Moidangpokpi, New Keithelmanbi, Khumbong, Patsoi, Yurembam kongba Kshetri Leikai, Chingkhu, Tangkham Awang Leikai, Waiton, Swambung, Kiyamgei etc.

In some schools, in the meantime, staged protest against killing of Islamuddin today.

Killing of teacher inside an educational institute is a severely wrong step, said the protesting students.

The protest was carried out by the students of Hundred Flowers Higher Secondary School, Pangei, RK Sanatombi Memorial Vidhyalaya, Sainik School, Dew Getwell School, Kanan Devi Memorial School, Royal Academy of Manipur, Khundrakpam Chingkhu KC High School, etc.
