Imphal, June 06 2009: MLA, O Joy today has said that the security forces are killing people in the manner whatever they like as they got the consent from the government currently ruling the state.

Responsibility of the killing spree should be fixed to the O Ibobi led SPF government.

O Joy, the senior leader of the MPP in the opposition was speaking to a one day consultative meeting on the unrestrained killing of people by armed persons in the state organized by the Kanglei Leimarol Apunba Lup at Singjamei Makha Naorem Leikai.

Joy graced the meet which was presided by president of the organizing body, Leimajam ongbi Soro as chief guest.

Presidents of the MIKHOL, Janaki, AMKIL Th Sakhi and president of the Kwairamband Keithel Semkat Sagat Lup, Ebeni attended as guest of honours.

The current trend of spree of killing and violent activities in the state need to be checked for peace, Joy observed alleging that security forces killed the people with the consent of the ruling government.

Responsibilities of the current spade of killing in the state without day breaks should be fixed to the government, he added.

Killing a man of being guilty of a crime may be by security force or by underground elements is not permitted by any of the law exist in the globe.

Voice of people is a must to stop all concerns killing people one or any other reasons, he said.

While appealing the government to take up appropriate action to check unrestrained killing in the state, O Joy also called upon the MLAs to works with forcefully not to happened such spree of killing in their respective constituencies.

Secretary of the organizing body N Memcha giving key note address of the consultative meeting said that the present spree of killing by security forces has showed that they (security forces) are not for the security of the people.

The activities of the security forces are same like looting the life and properties of the people.

If a man arrested on the charge of maintaining link with underground elements, he can be tried in the law court and give befitting punishment as per the law of the land.

If this be done, the hue and cry of the people and voice for people against the government and security forces may not be rose up, she added.

She also urged the state government to take up necessary step not make outrage the people out of killing people in illegal manners.

Government should instruct the security force not to act beyond the law that bound them.

She also turning towards the underground outfits urged to perform their activities knowing what the people are wishing from them.
