Imphal, October 29 2009: The outlawed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) and its armed wing, the PLA have offered revolutionary salute to A-No 2139 Sgt Henba, whose real identity is Nongmaithem Ramchandra, son of N Mangi and N (O) Ahanbi of Phumlou Mamang Leikai, who lost his life in an encounter with the security forces on October 27 at Phoilen village under Machi subdivision of Chandel district.

A statement issued by the chief, department of publicity of the RPF, GM Changjou observed that the statement of Maj Gen AK Choudhury in a recent interview to AIR who said that the militants are pushed to Myanmar from the state was proved wrong.

The statement further asserted that the encounter between the outfit and the combined security forces of 21 Para Regiment, 34 AR and Thoubal district police commandos resulted in the injury of nine AR personnel including a Major of the 21 Para Regiment.

The RPF said, some AR personnel could have been killed in the encounter.

The statement also conveyed that Sgt Henba joined the outfit on September 9, 2000.He was allotted Army No 2139 after completion of Basic Military Training on November 20, 2000 .

The statement also remembered the departed cadre as a disciplined, honest, and calm person.

The RPF and the PLA have also shared the grief of the bereaved family members.
