Imphal, August 27 2009: A petrol bomb hurled by some unknown persons exploded inside the Cheirap court complex where IRB personnel are guarding round the clock and located in the heart of the Imphal city where there is tight security this evening around 6.55 pm.

At the time of the explosion, IRB men were on duty at the main gate of the complex.

The bomb exploded near the office of the Imphal West Legal Service Authority inside the Cheirap Court Complex.

No injury was reported in the incident.

As disclosed by the IRB personnel on duty at the complex, the petrol bomb was hurled from the BT Fly over toward the complex by lighting a piece of cloth in the mouth of the bottle making the patrol bomb.

They expressed suspicion that two youths who came on a two-wheeler could have hurled the petrol bomb.

They were seen speeding away after the incident.
