Imphal, October 25 2009: A hand grenade kept by miscreants to night at a shop remained at the spot as police refused to turn up for disposal even though family reported the matter on time.

The bomb was deposited in front of a shop at Wabagai Bazar under Kakching police station tonight at about 7 pm.

The shop dealing with diesel and patrol belongs to one Thounaoujam Tomba.

Family believed that activists of an underground demanding Rs two lakh from the shop had kept the hand grenade.

They found the bomb when a member of the family went out of home after dinner of the night.

As soon as they detected the bomb reported to the Kakching police station.

But stating that they are not allow to went out in the night time and no vehicle in the station, refused to visit the spot for disposal of the bomb, the report added.
