Imphal, April 25 2009: DECRYING THE motive behind the shooting to injure a labour at Pungdongbam under Lamlai police station on the night of April 17 by some suspected undergrounds, a public meeting held at Leimapokpam Rural Development Market shed formed a JAC to undergo future course of action.

In a gun firing incident occurred on April 17 last at around 7.20 pm at a makeshift house for the labours at Pungdnogbam Sabal Loukon constructing roadside drainage there, one labour named Oinam Amuthoi (45) son of late Sanachaoba hailing from Leimapokpam Awang Leikai was shot at by two miscreants suspected to belongs to an underground group.

The public meeting held today at Leimapkpam thoroughly discussed on the incident and strongly condemning the act formed a JAC to protest against the act.

It also resolved to press the government to find out the culprits behind the shooting and award befitting punishment.

Amuthoi, who is the main bread earner of the family, is treating at the Shija Hospital where he was admitted after receiving serious injuries.
