Bodies demand for solution

Imphal, May 19 2010: Ching Tam Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Lup and Women Association for Civic Action, Kangleipak (WACAK) demanded the State Government to bring an early solution to food scarcity being faced in the State.

Speaking in a press conference held at Manipur Press Club today, Ching Tam Nupi Chaokhat Lup President RK Tharaksana said that the State is currently facing 'man-made famine' due to the blockades being clamped along National Highways 39 and 53 against holding of ADC elections.

Maintaining that the second Nupilan of 1939 and Hunger Marchers Day which falls on August 27 were occurred due to 'man-made famine', RK Tharaksana cautioned that people may revolt against the Government if it fails to bring a solution to the current imbroglio at the earliest.

WACAK President S Ibetombi while speaking in the press conference demanded the Govt to take up necessary step to open the two NHs at the earliest.
