Condemnation on killing continues

Imphal, June 14 2009: Several organizations including United People's Front, Manipur (UPF), United Committee Manipur (UCM) and National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO) in separate press releases expressed their deep condolences and condemnations on the brutal murder of social worker and contractor Yengkhom Krishnadas of Kakching Sumak Leikai on June 12 after being abducted by some unknown armed miscreants from his in-law's residence at Thangmeiband on June 10 .

A release of UPF issued by its Secretary Publicity, N Rupachandra expressed strong condemnation against the imposition of unbearable ransom money and the killing of the victim despite the family managed to pay the agreed amount of ransom to the miscreants.

UPF appealed to the state government to take up appropriate actions to protect the general public from the random threats and killings from both the identified and unidentified groups operating in the state at any time and place according to their will.

UCM expressed serious concern over the killing of the social worker Y Krishnadas by some unknown miscreants after taking agreed ransom amount on June 12 last.

It was an extremely wild act among the various crimes occurring in the state.

UCM also expressed that such crime of killing a person mercilessly after extorting a huge ransom amount may not be practiced in any other places of the world and the whole public need to collective strive against such heinous crime in a press release issued by its Secretary Kh Nilamani Kha-Nganba.

NIPCO issued by its Publicity Secretary, W Bikram stated that the murder of Y Krishnadas was inappropriate and was an act of mindless, coward and wild people.

NIPCO consider the murder as a serious crime as the miscreants were intended to kill Y Krishnadas by imposing unbearable ransom amount upon him.

The people of the state ought to hunt out all persons involved in the crime and reward appropriate punishment in public in order to prevent such heinous crimes in future.

Urging the state government to bring out the culprits soon expressed unconditional support in all the activities of the JAC formed against the killing.
