Imphal, May 14 2010: Protest demonstration and slogan shouting against the proposed visit of NSCN (IM) general secretary Th Muivah to Manipur and the permission given by the Government of India continued to be witnessed at places.

At Ningomthong Kitna Panung, around 100 womenfolk participated in the demonstration staged in front of the office building of the local Community Recreation Centre cum Library.

Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the protest demonstration, former member of Bashikhong Gram Panchayat Zilla Parishad Athokpam Ongbi Dhanapati Devi observed that Muivah should not be allowed to enter Manipur as there is a hidden agenda behind his proposed visit.

At the end of the protest demonstration which began from 10 am and continued till 5 pm, the protesting womenfolk also shouted slogans reaffirming the territorial integrity of Manipur.

At Thoubal Okram, a large number of womenfolk participated in a similar protest demonstration held under the joint aegis of People's Welfare Forum, Thoubal district; All Manipur Youth Protection; Ningol Yaipha Lamjing Apunba, Kangleipak and Thoubal Okram Mahila Mandal Meira Paibis.

At Singjamei Market shed, womenfolk of the area demonstrated against the proposed visit of Muivah to Manipur and the permission granted by the Government of India in this regard.
