Gunmen scatter vendor�s wares

Imphal, February 08 2009: Wares of the old woman vendor near the gate of the RIMS morgue was destroyed by two unidentified gunmen who seek to offer cigarette free of cost tonight at around 9.20 pm.The report said that the two gunmen with smell of liquor entered to the stall of the 56 year old woman named Kshetrimayum ongbi Tombi wife of Achoubi of Chingamakha Kshetri Leikai currently residing at Lamphel and running a small stalls near the gate of the RIMS morgue and at first they asked for a piece of pan. He asked the woman to offer the pan free of cost in which she gave it.

After eating the pan, they further asked to offer a cigarette once again.

When she refuesef to offer the cigarette in free, they dispersed the wares of the stall. When a rickshaw puller waiting for dropping the woman to her home intervened to the act, one of the youth took out a gun and assaulted him.

He along with another rickshaw puller who tried to stop the act of the youths injured in the incident.

The two rickshaw pullers named Jayenta of Mana Ingkhol and Shyamkishwor of Moirang Oksubung were later hospitalized at RIMS casualty ward.

The two youths vanished amidst the crowd who rushed there, the report said.
