Imphal, November 29 2009: Kuki Liberation Army (KLO/KLA) has clarified that the outfit has no connection whatsoever in the killing of former chief of Thayong village, Reyamkhup Kom on the night of November 25 .

Talking to reporters, 'C-in-C' of KLO/KLA, Timothy Kuki pointed out that it was baseless report that one of the assailants of Reyamkhup told the family members that he is the brother of Lulun.

He said, there is no brother of Lulun joining any underground group.

The brother of Lulun is pursuing a computer engineer course at Delhi.

He said that there are some persons trying to tarnish the image of KLO/KLA in the killing incident of Reyamkhup.

Saying that the outfit would probe into the killing, Timothy asked, why the assailants were not disclosing their identity.

Timothy said, there is no cadre of KLO/KLA in Theyong area at present.

The cadres are now confined at a designated camp in Saikul area.

He also said that the Komrem Union needs to make it clear over the allegation that some UG groups are involved in collecting NREGS fund from villagers.

KRU needs to point out which particular underground group is invloved.

Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, the 'chief finance officer' (CFO) of the outfit, William Kuki observed that the outfit has learnt that some persons are collecting money in the name of the KLO/KLA in Imphal area.

He urged the people not to extend any monetary help to those persons.

He said, five persons involved in collecting money in the name of the outfit are Haokhothang alias Doctor pu, Jangkhohao alias Arjun Kuki, Sonkhothang Kuki, Thangminlen alias Tiger Kuki and Hemkholen alias Daniel.

He informed the persons concerned to contact the outfit within December 5 .
